Steps to make your site Google-friendly

  • First and foremost suggestion for anyone trying to optimize their website is to review Google’s “Webmaster Guidelines”.
  • Give users / Customers only relevant and required information’s.
  • Homepage should be designed and planned with high quality contents.
  • Not just Home page, all or important contents should be in high quality.
  • Quality and informative contents will attract visitors and also entice other webmaster to link to your sites.
  • Contents should information rich, Clear and accurate.
  • Words which users use in searching should be included and used in the Contents.
  • Links help Google crawlers find site and specific contents, this can give greater visibility in search results.
  • Google uses well designed text-matching techniques to display pages that are important and relevant to each search.
  • More back links from other sites will rank your content more. Example If you have “X” content which is linked in 10 sites is equal to 10 votes cast for your content. If 10 is a max vote which will be considered as an important deciding factor to rank your site.
  • Be careful, Google algorithms are so intelligent they can differentiate natural links from unnatural links. Which might be negative factor if it is found unnatural.

  • Note – For Indexing and Ranking, Natural links are good and unnatural links are bad.
  • Each content or a page should have a logical link structure. Every page should be reachable from at least one static text link.
  • Test the content in Lynx browser, most of the crawlers read very similar way as Lynx would.
  • Don't fill page with lists of keywords, attempt to cover pages or crawler only friendly pages.
  • Important to keep in mind “If your site contains pages, links, or text that you don't intend visitors to see, Google considers those links and pages deceptive and may ignore your site.”
  • Deciding to hire an SEO is a big and best decision that can potentially improve your site and save time, but you can also risk damage to your site and reputation if they employ deceptive tactics in an attempt to fool search engines. If google finds the deceptive tactics your site may get banned from index.
  • Don't use images to display important names, content, or links, Crawlers can't recognize text contained in graphics.
  • Don't create multiple copies of a page under different URLs.
